Anyone ever tried LinuxCAD 2000?

When we try to open the .dxf files in AutoCAD 2000 the drawing extents are way off and the units style has changed from architectural to decimal.

As for the autocad compatability mastercam can use .dxf files but you have to make sure these are drawn to scale no mater what program you use. AutoCAD 2004 / Adobe 6 compatability
I only use AutoCAD 2000i and Corel DRAW 9. Any compatibility issues between Acad and this win version ????? I'm not sure on the difference of 2000i to the normal acad, but Acad 2000 works OK for my Dad (an engineer), and he also runs Corel DRAW 10 with no problems. His specs are: 900MHz Celeron 256Mb RAM 20Gb HDD

Acad is only backward compatible. What version of the DWG format is Turbcad saving to? What version of LT are you using? Autocad LT for Windows 95 Release 3 and Turbocad 2D Version 6.5 Build 60.1 I have also tried saving in .dxf format and still Autocad LT refuses to open it! Dave.

However, If I save the drawing in Turbocad as a .dwg file and try and open it using Autocad LT I get the "Incompatible version" error message. It seems a bit strange that the two products are compatible in one direction and not the other! After all Turbocad claims to be fully autocad compatible.

I've run and seen Autocad run by others on all kinds of machines all the way back to 12MHz 286s. I can't remember ever hearing of any machine that Autocad simply wouldn't run on, at least not that could be blamed on the motherboard. And things are much easier than ever with NT & 95. Adobe told me, via tech support, that it is an Autocad problem and they would not help me. Use AcroPlot. They are a Autodesk supported developer. I am returning all five versions of Acrobat 6.0 Pro because of the constant hassles in relation to AutoCAD. AcroPlot is way less expensive too!! My 2 cents.
